Dougie
Dougie
is a 16.2 hh, grey Hanoviarian Gelding.
Dougie
has been at Earnsdale Farm Riding School for two years. He has a very
calm temperament and has excellent stable manners like all the animals
at Earnsdale Farm.
Dougie
is always anxious to please his rider and has not a naughty thought
in his head. Dougie has big, elastic strides, covering a lot of ground
in his strides. He is ridden by our students working for BHS examinations
and is very popular amongst them. He is very good in his flat work and
has a good steady jump over fences.
Dougie
has a stringhalt problem which is fairly pronounced as he comes out
of his stable at first, then becomes hardly noticeable at all after
he has worked in. He was given to the Riding School by Julie Hale, who
still comes to visit him every so often and asks about him regularly.
Dougie
is so calm he is very popular with novice riders but usually beginners
need to get established on other, less springy horses first. However,
occasionally we have to start a beginner on Dougie if the client is
over 14 stone and/or over 6'2".
