Benefits
of Membership
What
are the benefits of Pony Club Membership, and how can we help you? We
want to broaden your knowledge of horse and pony care, make you feel
a part of a world wide organisation which has given so many members
great fun and help you achieve your goals in the equestrian world, whatever
they may be. These benefits include:-
Pony
Club Tests
Pony
Club Tests (Standards of Efficiency) which create enthusiasm and ensure
progress, are designed to improve your riding ability and knowledge
of horse and pony care. Starting with the "D" Test, you can progress
through the "D+" and up to "C" Standard. In addition, when taking the
"C" Test candidates are required to pass their Riding & Road Safety
Certificate. This ensures that, in the event of riding on the road,
you are aware of the correct procedures.
Your
Earnsdale Farm Riding School Instructor will be helping you achieve
the required standard to pass these tests and can answer any questions
you may have. Having passed a Test, you can wear the appropriate coloured
felt behind your badge to mark your success.
Pony
Club Achievement Badges
These
cover a range of basic equestrian and countryside topics and, as each
one is passed, the appropriate cloth badge can be sewn onto your Pony
Club Sweatshirt. A separate leaflet is available from the riding school.
Your
Instructor and your parents, will be able to help you learn what is
required to gain your Achievement Badges, some of the subjects may already
be taught in school.

NEW
- MINI PONY CLUB
From Sunday, 6th January, 2011, Earnsdale
is trying out a new venture of a Pony Club branch for very young children.
There will be two sessions each week - Saturdays at 2.30 pm and Sundays
at 4.00 pm. They will last for half an hour and will cost £4 each
child per session.
The
mini Pony Club members will be aged from 4 years to 7, 8 or 9 years
and they may move up into the full length sessions when they wish after
7 years of age.
Exciting
new horizons emerge from Pony Club membership.
Visit their web site www.pcuk.org
and see how children (and parents) can build up a learning area of a
virtual pony, stable, grooming items and win rosettes in competition.
Non members can also register for this, free of charge and gain further
knowlege of the world of horses and ponies.
Each
session at Earnsdale will cover such topics as working for Achievement
badges - in this case mini-badges - for such things at grooming ponies,
learning about colours, points of the pony, names for parts of the tack
and many more. Children can even gain a mini badge for learning about
wild birds.
Insurance
Your
membership subscription includes Third Party Legal Liability Insurance,
which covers you for accidental injury or damage to third party or their
property, arising out of the use or ownership of ponies or horses.
